Selena Gomez, by her own account, is the only squad member who’s single. And while a 12-year-old Brit and Justin Bieber have publicly wooed her these past few weeks, the guy who’s actually won her over is a male musician she was just friends with originally (not One Direction’s Niall Horan). Charlie Puth, Gomez’s Revival tour mate with whom she recorded breakup duet “We Don’t Talk Anymore,” is now hooking up with her, Us Weekly reports. (What that means, you, me, and Rihanna can try to guess.)
“It’s not serious, but she’s super into him,” a source tells the outlet. An insider close to Selena calls it a “flirty friendship,” though whether this means friends with benefits is unclear.
The two started out as non-flirty friends when they met at the MTV Video Music Awards last August. It’s an intense relationship, Puth suggested to Us Weekly in November: “I don’t know if anyone really understands me, which is why I hang out with Selena Gomez. She gets me.” (Puth sidestepped questions about Selena when he talked to ELLE.com in February.)
Which kind of complicates things, huh?
