It comes full circle for bridal designers Ryan Patros and Walter Mendez, and their eponymous label, Ryan and Walter.
Beyoncé, the standard bearer of Instagram triptychs, posted a year-in-review video on her social media account, which showed scenes of her family, a number of her accomplishments, and ensembles that she chose to highlight throughout 2019. And the two looks that served as bookends for Queen Bey were designed by the Los Angeles-based duo.
The songstress began 2019 in a white form-hugging, floor-length sequin dress that she accessorized with an outré feather headdress, velvet heels, and, for good measure, a fan. She capped off the montage with a family photo of herself, her husband Jay-Z, daughter Blue Ivy, and twins Rumi and Sir. In it, Beyoncé wears a grand ball gown presumably made of cream organza that features an ornate bodice and flared skirt. Both looks were put together by one of Bey’s go-to stylists, Zerina Akers, who Patros and Mendez thanked in the brand’s Instagram post that also featured a close-up video of the gown.
What’s more, the design is clearly a wedding dress that was repurposed into a formal look for the holiday photo. Indeed, wearing a voluminous all-white look is not something many could get away with on a day that doesn’t require walking down an aisle. Then again, not many are multi-award-winning, mic-dropping, electrifying superstars that have a literal hive of fans.
