Maybe the royals have multimillion dollar Netflix series and Broadway musicals based on their lives, and maybe the Internet freaks out when duchesses are spotted wearing shorts, but at the end of the day, the royals are just like us. Flying, in this particular instance, has proven to be one great equalizer.

Earlier in the week, the Cambridges buckled up aboard yet another budget flight, heading home from the Scottish Highlands after their annual trip to the queen’s Balmoral Estate. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge—as well as their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis—were all photographed exiting a Loganair plane at the Aberdeen International Airport, according to the Mirror.

Managing director of Norwich Airport Richard Pace told the Eastern Daily Press, “It’s always a great privilege to welcome any member of the Royal family to our airport and we are always happy to welcome them.”

Last week, the Cambridges boarded a commercial flight on their way to the Scottish estate. Their budgeted trip closely followed the backlash against Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who used a private jet for a brief holiday in Nice, France. Some criticized the Duke and Duchess of Sussex as being hypocritical, pointing out that the “gas-guzzling” traveling method negated their environmental efforts, but the royals’ celebrity friends defended them amidst “attacks” from critics.
