Blake Lively Mixes Up A Mean Holiday Mocktail

Like many of us, Blake Lively loves a seasonal libation but doesn't always want alcohol in her life. Unlike most of us, the actress-turned-entrepreneur has channeled that feeling into a line of nonalcoholic drink mixers, which she calls Betty Buzz.

Lively explains that she wants her drinks to be bold and robust. "It was important for me, when creating Betty Buzz, to have drinks that weren't too sweet. That didn't take away from the dish if you were eating food, but were flavorful enough if you wanted to have a drink and feel like you were having [something special]," Lively tells BAZAAR.com. "I don't drink, because I don't like the effects of alcohol, but I like being a part of it—I like being social, and I like people coming together."

For Lively, the perfect mocktail is all about the details: extra notes of citrus or even freshly grown herbs that bring a seasonal base note flavour to the next level.

"I love to grow herbs," Lively adds. "I always think it's great to have some potted herbs in my kitchen to help with entertaining. Whatever the season, whatever you feel is the right vibe, play with different fruits or different herbs. Whether it's mint, basil, fresh lavender, sage; different citruses or berries. You can do whatever you want. You cut them in different shapes or slices, and then, you lay them out near the different Betty Buzz flavours and it becomes more of an experience for your dinner party guests of whoever is over at your apartment."
