Lee Chae-rin—better known by her stage name CL—is a bona fide global pop star. After enjoying a highly successful run as one fourth of South Korean girl group 2NE1, she has dominated the charts as a solo artist and she’s showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

Recently, she was in Singapore for the Cartier ‘Into The Wild’ pop-up experience at Bayfront Pavilion, Gardens by the Bay. Spanning 580 sqm, the exhibition consists of eight rooms, each with its own distinct theme which tells the story of Cartier’s savoir-faire while highlighting the luxury jeweller’s emblematic animal, the Panthére.

What are three things you can’t live without?

Water, music and my loved ones.

Three of your songs that hold the most significance for you.

The first would be ‘Spicy’ because it's a part of Alpha, which was a very important album for me being an independent artist, and it represents that. Next, it would be ‘The Baddest Female’ because that was my first solo song. And the last one is yet to come.

What three words would you use to describe Cartier?

Classic, timeless and Panthére spirit.

Three things that come to mind when you hear the word “wild.”

CL, performing on stage and the colour gold for some reason.

Three things you love about Singapore.

I love my fans here, obviously. I love the food here. And to be really honest, I like the airport here.

Three of your ultimate pet peeves.

Unsanitary anything, bad manners and bad table manners.

Three silly things that make you laugh.

Round animals, kids goofing around and my old self.

Lastly, what would you like to say to your fans in Singapore?

I’m so happy to be back here as I’ve missed you guys. Hopefully, I’ll come back for my show and be fully connected with you guys musically. And I hope I visit more often.
