We've all been so caught up with the news that Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are engaged again, that many forgot to ask how the actor even proposed.

In a new edition of her newsletter, On the J.Lo, the singer and actress detailed the romantic evening.

"Did you ever imagine your biggest dream could come true?" she wrote. "Saturday night while at my favorite place on earth (in the bubble bath), my beautiful love got on one knee and proposed. I was taken totally off guard and just looked in his eyes smiling and crying at the same time trying hard to get my head around the fact that after 20 years this was happening all over again, I was quite literally speechless and he said, 'is that a yes?' I said YES of course that's a YES."

Affleck popped the question with a huge natural green 8.5-carat diamond which could reportedly be worth more than $10 million—much more than the alleged $2.5 million Affleck spent on the 6.1-carat pink diamond that he proposed to Lopez with the first time around.

"I was smiling so big and tears were coming down my face, feeling so incredibly happy and whole. It was nothing fancy at all, but it was the most romantic thing I could've ever imagined...just a quiet Saturday night at home, two people promising to always be there for each other," Lopez wrote of the proposal.

"Two very lucky people. Who got a second chance at true love," she added.

Speaking of her beautiful green rock, Lopez said, "Green has always been my lucky color and now, for sure, it always will be." She even included some photos from her camera roll, including a snap of herself with the ring, and a close-up of the diamond.

The engagement comes 18 years after Affleck and Lopez called off their first engagement, back in January 2004. Though they went on to marry different people following their split, they always remained friends. In 2021, they rekindled their romance, and now, they've committed to spending the rest of their lives together.

This past weekend, the actors were seen looking at homes in Los Angeles with Affleck's daughter Seraphina and son Samuel. During the outing, Lopez, in loose denim pants and an oversized white button-down shirt over a white tank top, showed off her sparkly green diamond ring.
