Kim Kardashian honored Janet Jackson‘s 55th birthday by purchasing one of the singer’s most iconic archived music video ensembles.
The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star and SKIMS founder took to Instagram to share with fans that she had purchased a look from Jackson’s 1993 music video for her hit single “If.” Kardashian scored the ensemble for a staggering $25,000 from a three-day sale at Julien’s Auctions honoring the singer’s career, aptly called Iconic Treasures from the Legendary Career and Life of Janet Jackson. Specifically, Kardashian took home Jackson’s custom-made suede-collared crop top with bone detailing and matching grommet lace-up flared pants.

“Happy birthday queen!” Kardashian wrote on her Instagram Story next to an original clip of Jackson sporting the set. “For @janetjackson’s bday bc I’m such a fan I can’t believe I won this on juliens_auctions.”
Jackson responded to Kardashian’s auction win, writing, “Thank u so much @kimkardashian! I hope ‘IF’ gives u as much pleasure as it did me.”
Jackson later shared a clip of her virtually tuning in to the auction, where fans took a moment to sing “Happy Birthday” to the legendary pop star. A portion of the proceeds from the auction were donated to Compassion International, an organization that partners with churches around the globe to help children living in poverty.
“Thank u guys for all the birthday luv!” wrote Jackson alongside the clip. “I luv u so much 😘😘😘.”
