Meghan Markle has just confirmed what we long held to be true: Prince Harry is a feminist.

The royal couple arrived in Cardiff this afternoon (18 January) for their third royal engagement, albeit an hour later than planned because of train delays. Because, yes, it can even happen to royalty.

But despite running behind, Harry and Markle made sure they stopped to speak with well-wishers, during which, one royal fan told the 36-year-old actress how wonderful it is to have a feminist in the royal family.

‘Thank you,’ Markle replied, before adding: ‘He’s [Harry] a feminist too.’

A royal reporter from The Sun uploaded the clip on Twitter.

The newly-engaged pair were given a tour of Cardiff castle upon their arrival, during which they watched performances from local musicians and poets, and met leading Welsh sportsmen and women.

Their next stop is at Star Hub, a community and leisure centre in the Tremorfa area of the city, to see how sport is being used to engage young people and aid social development

And the couple will also meet with young women who are taking part in the UsGirls project, a charity set up to increase and sustain young women’s participation physical activity, and break down barriers which have prevented many young women from following a career in sport.

Markle looked typically chic in a black Stella McCartney coat, trousers by the Welsh fashion house, Hiut Denim and a DeMellier ‘Mini Venice‘ bag.

And despite the couple reportedly keen on a banana wedding cake ahead of their nuptials in May, they were gifted with magnificent five-tier cake made entirely of cheese.

We know what we’d choose…
