Kylie Jenner has officially ended her era of being the most followed woman on Instagram. Her successor? Selena Gomez.
For a while, Jenner and Gomez were neck and neck – maintaining a similar follower count of around 380 million–a number many of us can only dream of.

While Gomez has been more active on Instagram recently, she shared in a recent Vanity Fair interview that she really only has TikTok on her phone. Her assistants help with her social media postings since she deleted the application off her phone several years back.
Gomez briefly explained her reasons for stepping back from social media. As a celebrity, she barely got to experience life as an “ordinary” teenager. Social media was constantly flooded with comments on her life, affecting her mentally and emotionally.

Despite that, she still sees TikTok as a “less hostile” platform, where she is able to create and view content while also receiving love and support from her fans.
