"I could not be more thrilled or honoured to photograph this historic occasion," Lubomirski said in a statement released by the palace.

"Having taken Prince Harry and Ms. Markle's engagement photos, it brings me such joy to be able to witness again, the next chapter in this wonderful love story."

Lubomirski - who was born in England, but moved to Botswana with his mother and stepfather at the age of eight - regularly works with leading global public figures and international publications.

The 39-year-old photographer - who is a Harper's Bazaar regular contributor - also has royal lineage through the Polish House of Lubomirski, which dates back 500 years.

He has published two photography books, donating all proceeds to the charity ConcernWorldwide, which he supports as an Ambassador.

Speaking recently about taking Harry and Markle's engagement photos, Lubomirski admitted that he was surprised by the fuss made over the sheer Ralph & Russo dress Markle chose for the shoot at Frogmore House - where the couple will have their wedding reception next month.

"I was very shocked with the reaction," Lubomirski told Entertainment Tonight's Keltie Knight.

"To be honest, we tried on a couple of different things and that was just one that she felt comfortable in, so we weren’t really thinking, 'Is it nude?' or anything. We just thought, ‘Feel comfortable and let’s make some nice pictures.'"

Prince Harry and Markle will marry at St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle on 19 May.
