Prince Harry has kept tight-lipped about his love life, especially after news broke last year that he and Suits star Meghan Markle are dating. However, now that he and the actress have made a few public appearances together, the royal appears to be loosening up—slightly.
While paying his respects at Westminster Abbey’s Field of Remembrance in London today, the 33-year-old royal spoke to a bomb disposal expert, Matt Weston, who served in Afghanistan. The veteran was apparently curious about Harry’s relationship, Hello! reports. When he asked where Markle was, the prince reportedly joked that he couldn’t bring his girlfriend to public engagements because he “can’t hide her anywhere.”
It’s true, though. Even the slightest hint of a joint appearance between Harry and Meghan sends people into a royal craze. Hence, the couple tried to keep things low-key at previous events they’ve attended together that were under the spotlight, like Pippa Middleton’s wedding (they sneakily drove to the reception together) or the opening ceremonies of the Invictus Games (they sat in separate sections).
The couple did, however, finally make their first official public appearance during a smaller-scale event during the Invictus Games in September. The two casually attended a tennis match unannounced, where they packed on the smiles and PDA.
