William, who has been president of BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) since 2010, is expected to make his first appearance at the ceremony in two years. Middleton will join him, despite tabloid gossip that she was not welcome because organizers feared she would “detract attention” from the actors and nominees. Other false reports said the Prince would attend the event alone.
