Rihanna Says To Expect The Unexpected With Her New Music

Rihanna might not be talking about when her new music is coming, but she is giving fans a glimpse of what it will sound like.

While attending the Los Angeles premiere of her Savage x Fenty Vol. 3 fashion show, the singer spoke with The Associated Press and hinted at what's to come when she does decide to release her new stuff.

“You’re not going to expect what you hear. Just put that in your mind,” Rihanna told the AP. “Whatever you know of Rihanna is not going to be what you hear. I’m really experimenting. Music is like fashion. You should be able to play. I should be able to wear whatever I want. I treat music the same way. So I’m having fun and it’s going to be completely different.”

Fans have been eagerly awaiting new music from the pop star since her acclaimed 2016 album, Anti, which spawned the hits “Work,” “Kiss It Better,” and more. The singer has remained focused in recent years, however, on her multiple (and very lucrative) business endeavours, including the Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin cosmetics lines, and her successful lingerie brand, Savage x Fenty. Her hard work has clearly paid off—Forbes declared Rihanna a billionaire in August.

The wait for new music is understandably frustrating for fans, but wait we must: The star has insisted that she’s in no rush to release new music.

“I am always working on music. I am always working on music and when I am ready to put it out in the way that I feel fit, it’s gonna come out. And you’re not going to be disappointed when it happens. It’s going to be worth it,” Rihanna told Entertainment Tonight last year. “I’m not just gonna put it out just because people are waiting. It’s taken this long, I’m gonna make it worth it.”
