Do you ever wonder how your parents chose your name? Well, as it turns out, some, like Scarlett Johansson, leave the decision entirely up to fate.

In a new interview, the Black Widow star revealed how she and husband Colin Jost named their son, Cosmo.

Speaking with Kelly Clarkson on The Kelly Clarkson Show yesterday, the actress admitted that she and Jost initially "just threw a bunch of letters together" when trying to come up with their now one-year-old's name. And from that little game came the name Cosmo.

"It just seemed like a refreshing—I just thought it was so charming. Our friends all liked it," Johansson said.

It did take a while for the Saturday Night Live star's mom to get on board though.

"She kept suggesting other versions of it for a while, and I was like, 'No, he's already here, he's out,'" Johansson recalled.

Johansson is also mom to eight-year-old daughter Rose Dorothy, whom she shares with ex-husband Romain Dauriac.

"I love that they're both flowers," Clarkson said on her show, referring to Rose and Cosmo (cosmos are colorful, daisy-like flowers).

"They are both flowers," Johansson said. "Not a lot of people make that connection. Cosmo is, like, a really sweet little flower that comes in different shades of, like, orange and yellow."

She added, "That's why my daughter liked it too."
