Chris Pratt Told Anna Faris About His Engagement In A Super Casual Way

When Chris Pratt announced his engagement to Katherine Schwarzenegger earlier this week, Anna Faris, his ex-wife, enthusiastically congratulated the couple on Instagram. However, that wasn't her first time hearing the news. Pratt actually reached out to Faris the morning of his announcement to notify her about the proposal.

"Chris texted me this morning and he was like, you know, 'I proposed to Katherine last night,' I was like, 'Ah that's amazing!'" she said on her podcast, Anna Faris Is Unqualified, on Monday.

Given she and her ex are still on friendly terms, Faris responded with the perfect joke: "I texted him back like, 'Just want to remind you, I'm an ordained minister.'"

Faris and Pratt, who married in 2009, publicly announced their separation in August 2017. They share a six-year-old son together named Jack. The actress showered her ex and his new fiancée with well wishes on her podcast.

"Sweet Chris, my ex, got engaged to Katherine today, and I'm so happy for them," she said within the first few minutes of the episode. "I knew that it was gonna happen, and I love her, and I love him, and I'm just so happy that they found each other. I so subscribe to the idea of expanding family and love, with Jack."

Faris confirmed that, "Yes, of course I'm cool," about her ex getting engaged. "That's almost the harder part of things, is people looking to me for my reaction," she said. The Mom star is also in a relationship herself, she pointed out.

"I do want to be open with my dear listeners, and I do want to congratulate Chris and Katherine and I love you guys," Faris added. "I'm thrilled. They're both f*cking amazing people. I'm so happy."

Talking about her public divorce and co-parenting, Faris said, "The truth is, there isn't any bitterness. And I'm just so happy that we're all really happy." She even joked about the possibility of having Chris and Katherine on the podcast to talk wedding planning.
