Cindy Crawford had no hesitations about her daughter Kaia Gerber entering the world of modelling aged 16. The supermodel explained this week that she felt “comfortable” about Gerber’s decision to take to the catwalk at such a young age.
“I had no trepidation at all about saying yes to Kaia,” Crawford told E! “I felt comfortable and I was like, ‘Go for it, have fun and I’m always here if you have a question.'”
Crawford also went on to explain that her own experience helped her daughter to be clued up on the industry, but that she had to learn certain things on her own: “She was pretty well-versed in designers and young photographers. But no matter how much someone can tell you about the industry, there are things you have to learn firsthand.”
Gerber has risen up the ranks in her short career, walking for the biggest names in the business and landing campaigns for the likes of Chanel, Valentino, Saint Laurent, Calvin Klein and Marc Jacobs. While she has certainly made a name for herself in her own right, the young model said that it is still the “biggest compliment” to be compared to her mother.
