Whether or not you read the book, watched the movie, or saw the first play, Michael Chiang‘s Army Daze holds a special place in all Singaporeans’ hearts because of the stories and hilarious encounters that hit so close to home. It has been three decades since the local hit made its theatre debut, and marking the big 3-0 is the long-awaited sequel, Army Daze 2, which is on stage now till 20 August at the Drama Centre.
Expect a hilarious catch up with all five original characters — now successful businessmen facing hilarious mid-life crises of their own — and be introduced to the next generation, a band of National Servicemen who face their own series of misadventures and romantic conundrums centred around Renee, played by 16-year-old singing sensation, Natalie Ong.
We get to know three of Army Daze 2‘s (and theatre industry’s) rising young stars, Tahir Ansari, Natalie Ong and Tay Hwan Haw above.
