The “I Love Me” singer took to Instagram to share a few behind-the-scenes snaps of the moment when her now fiancé, actor Max Ehrich, popped the question in Malibu last weekend.
“Best night of my life… still soaking it all up.. I love you baby @maxehrich 💍,” wrote Lovato alongside a series of photos from her beachside proposal. In the images, Ehrich can be seen getting down on one knee to ask for the singer’s hand in marriage. In the others, Lovato can be seen excitedly embracing her new fiancé.
Ehrich shared the same set of photos on his Instagram, also revealing the special song that soundtracked the couple’s engagement.
“‘Crash Into Me’ by @davematthewsband was playin ❤️ still floating ☁️ love you more each and every second @ddlovato,” wrote the actor.
Lovato shared another post celebrating her “miracle day.” First in the series was a black-and-white clip of the artist riding in the back seat of a car, her head leaned back with her eyes closed listening to music. Also included in the post was an emotional message about how her engagement happened right before the two-year anniversary of her surviving an overdose.
“Today is my miracle day. I’m so lucky to have one,” wrote Lovato. “It represents how the Dr’s at Cedar’s Sinai saved my life. How my life has become something beyond my wildest dreams. Only 2 years after that terrible day, I’m engaged to the love of my life, and I can genuinely say I feel free of my demons. Each and every one.”
