The Duchess of Cambridge has been selected by the Queen to take over from her role as Wimbledon Patron.

Kate, who is a long-time fan of tennis and who has attended many Wimbledon matches with her husband, the Duke of Cambridge, will assume the role this summer, reports The Sunday Times.

The Queen, who turns 90 this year, has been Wimbledon Patron for 64 years, but hasn’t attended a match since 2010. As she prepares for a year of birthday celebrations, it’s reported that she’s planning to hand over another of her sporting patronage positions—that of the Rugby Football Union—to Prince Harry.  Both sporting patronages are honorary positions.
