Original post, 7/14: The nominations for the 68th Emmy Awards were announced this morning by Anthony Anderson (Black-ish) and Lauren Graham (Gilmore Girls).

Game of Thrones again takes the lead, with 23 nominations, while mini series drama The People vs. OJ Simpson: American Crime Story follows close behind with 22 nods andFargo comes in third place with 18. The nominations list also welcomes some newcomers, like Black-ish, Aziz Ansasri’s Master of None, Mr. Robot and The Americans.

Unlike the Oscar nominations this year, this year’s Emmy roster shows a more diverse pool of nominees. Viola Davis (How to Get Away with Murder), Taraji P. Henson (Empire), Cuba Gooding Jr. (The People vs. OJ Simpson), Idris Elba (Luther), Audra McDonald (Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar and Grill), Kerry Washington (Confirmation), Aziz Ansari (Master of None) and Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross of Black-ish are all up for lead acting awards in the drama, comedy and mini series categories. Even shows that cast actors of color are in the running for awards, like Black-ish and Master of None for Outstanding Comedy, and Roots and The People vs. OJ Simpson: American Crime Storyfor Outstanding Limited Series.

The Emmys will air on ABC on Sunday, September 18 at 7 PM ET, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel. See the list of primetime nominees below.
