What Goes In Your Acai Bowl

We’ve heard of the benefits of acai. So when they were turned into an inviting bowl of nutrient-rich goodness, studded with a myriad of fellow fruity adornments as seen on various Instagram accounts, we just had to get our hands on one. Not just a feast for the eyes, these delicious bowls had us sold from the first spoonful.

As much as they’re fun to eat, they’re also fun to make. Here’s how to easily make your own acai bowl at home! It’s a great way to get your friends together for brunch and customize your own personalized bowls of lip-smacking goodness.

Recipe

Serves 2

Acai puree

  • 4 tablespoons of acai powder
  • 1 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries
  • ½ frozen Banana
  • Unsweetened almond milk

Or

  • 1 pack of prepared frozen acai
  • Unsweetened almond milk

Toppings

  • Sliced banana
  • Sliced strawberries
  • Sliced kiwi
  • Mashed mango
  • Whole blueberries
  • Whole dried goji berries (wolfberries)
  • Coconut flakes
  • Crumbled granola
  • Raw cacao nibs
  • Chia seeds
  • Bee pollen

Method

  1. 1) Blend all the ingredients or the prepared frozen acai in a blender until smooth. Add almond milk accordingly until you reach the consistency that you like.
  2. 2) Arrange toppings to your preference. There’s no hard and fast rule here, so go easy or go crazy with what you have.
  3. 3) Serve.
