Gigi Hadid Celebrated Eid With Zayn Malik And His Family

Gigi Hadid celebrated the Muslim festival of Eid with her boyfriend Zayn Malik this week. Zayn's sister Waliyha shared a series of pictures of the festivities on her Instagram with the caption "Eid Mubarak," a Muslim greeting reserved for use during two Muslim holidays.

Gigi's father Mohammed is of Muslim origin, and came to America as a refugee before becoming a naturalized citizen. Zayn's family is also Muslim, and his mother, Trisha Malik, was in attendance alongside the couple and Waliyha.

Eid al-Adha, also known as The Festival of Sacrifice or 'Big Eid,' is the second and more prominent of two Muslim holidays celebrated each year. The first, Eid al-Fitr, marks the end of Ramadan, which took place in May and June.

Shortly after their very public breakup in March, rumors began to emerge that Gigi and Zayn had rekindled their romance, and the pair were seen kissing in New York in April. By June, they were officially back on, with Gigi sharing some subtle confirmation via an adorable Instagram post. In July, Gigi clapped back at an Instagram account which kept questioning the authenticity of their relationship, writing: "The energy you put into this does not serve you our your life in any way kids…. truly 'beating a dead horse.' You guys can call it promo but I just post about my boyfriend like anyone else, whether I support z or he supports me is out of love and excitement for one another. There's nothing to figure out all the time… give it a break."

The couple had been together for two years at the time of their breakup, and by the looks of things they're going strong once again.
