The video for “Ain’t Your Mama,” Jennifer Lopez’s new ear worm of a single, features J.Lo dancing on a soundstage in a pair of pants-boots gifted from Rihanna, who designed the shoes in collaboration with Manolo Blahnik for the Denim Desserts collection.
“To the baddest,” Rihanna wrote in a note she sent with the shoes. “Because I know you’re gonna wear them better than me!!!”
So J.Lo wore the “incredibly sick-ass boots” in her new product placement-laden music video, which makes sense thematically given that the narrative loosely follows the evolution of the working woman. According to the product page on ManoloBlahnik.com, the “sensual thigh-scraping boot” is called “9 to 5” and costs $4,350. The design “evolved from the pair’s vision of a confident, decisive woman who knows what she wants.”
But what was it like to dance in them? In a video Q&A on her Facebook page yesterday, J.Lo revealed that the boots were not made for dancing.
She’s J.Lo. She can probably dance in anything.
