Jamie Lynn Spears Defends Sister Britney Spears Against Invasive Instagram Critics

Jamie Lynn Spears is shutting down Internet critics who have anything negative to say regarding her older sister, Britney Spears.

Yesterday, the actress shared a post from musician Halsey, which detailed the importance of being sensitive and sympathetic to others when it comes to issues of struggling with mental health.

"If you deal with mental illness or care for someone dealing with mental illness, then you know how important it is to respect the situation with privacy for the person, and the family trying to protect their loved ones, no matter how it may appear to the public, and as the public we must learn to do the same," wrote Spears alongside a screenshot of Halsey's message. "I pray this doesn't bring shame to anyone dealing with mental illness, you are not alone, and you are loved."

Over the years, fans have expressed concern over Britney's social media presence, with the singer declaring time and time again that she's just being herself. Jamie Lynn's recent post, however, provoked an Instagram user to leave a disrespectful comment regarding Britney and her rumoured experiences with mental illness.

"You have no right to assume anything about my sister, and I have NO right to speak about HER health and personal matters. She is a strong, badass, unstoppable woman, and that's the only thing that is OBVIOUS," clapped back Jamie Lynn in a response captured by Comments by Celebs.

When another Instagram user demanded that the actress speak out regarding her sister's supposed struggles, she echoed a similar sentiment. "I would never speak out just to clarify things to the public, when the person it pertains to does not want that to happen," wrote Jamie Lynn. "I'd rather take all the hate, then speak about someone else's personal matter, that they want to keep private."
