A plethora of movies were forced to shut down production on account of the coronavirus pandemic earlier this year. But if this new announcement is anything to go by, then celebrity-filled films will be hitting our screens again in the not-too-distant future.
Here’s everything we know so far about Don’t Look Up, and the hugely famous cast attached to the movie.

Don’t Look Up is in the streamer’s 2021 slate, as revealed by its sizzle reel for the year. The end of the video reveals leads Jennifer Lawrence and Leonardo DiCaprio in the first-ever footage from the upcoming comedy.

Per Deadline, “The film follows two low-level astronomers who embark on a media tour to warn mankind of an approaching asteroid that will destroy Earth.”
Don’t Look Up will be written and directed by Adam McKay, who’s responsible for movies such as Vice, The Big Short, Anchorman, and Step Brothers. In a press release, McKay revealed, “The fact that Netflix sees this movie as a worldwide comedy sets the bar high for me and my team in an exciting and motivating way.”
It stars basically everyone.
As reported by Deadline, Jennifer Lawrence was already attached to star in Don’t Look Up, and she’s now been joined by a slew of Hollywood stars. McKay previously said of Lawrence’s casting in a press release, “I’m so thrilled to make this movie with Jen Lawrence. She’s what folks in the 17th century used to call ‘a dynamite act.'”
As noted by Deadline, DiCaprio’s casting is also pertinent, as it’s the first time the Oscar-winner has starred in a movie produced by Netflix.

Don’t Look Up is currently shooting, and Jennifer Lawrence and Leonardo DiCaprio have been spotted together. They were photographed at South Station in Boston on December 1, 2020, with Lawrence wearing a red wig.

In January 2021, Blanchett was spotted filming on set in Boston. The actress wore a vibrant blonde wig, and looked smart as she filmed a scene for the forthcoming movie.

In early February, costars Chalamet and Lawrence were photographed filming a scene together. The performers were spotted snuggling up on the roof of a fast food restaurant and looking up at the sky.
Meanwhile, People confirmed that Lawrence had been injured while filming the forthcoming Netflix movie, with Page Six suggesting the actress’s injury was caused during an explosion. A source told Page Six, “An explosion was set up for a stunt in which glass shatters … It was a stunt in which the glass was supposed to shatter—but it injured her.”
