Korean all-girl K-pop group Blackpink has been busy. Following the release of their first single How You Like That in June earlier this year, it has been reported that Jisoo has scored herself a leading role in a new K-drama series.

Her management company, YG Entertainment, confirmed on Tuesday (Aug 18) that “It is true that Jisoo is starring in the new drama Snowdrop”.

Written by Yoo Hyun Mi and directed by Jo Hyun Tak, the duo are also the brainchild behind the hit drama SKY Castle. This is the 25-year-old’s first starring role following her cameo appearances in The Producers (2015) and Arthdal Chronicles 2019) where she played the love interest of Song Joong-Ki's character.

In June, it was also reported that actress Kim Hye-yoon was considered a role in the series, but there has been no update.

This looks like an exciting year for Jisoo and her fellow Blackpink members as their new album will be dropping in October. They also have an upcoming single with Selena Gomez that is set to be released on Aug 28.
