Kanye West is helping make sure the families of George FloydBreonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery are taken care of as they fight for justice for their loved ones.

According to Variety, West has donated $2 million thus far to charities in support of Floyd, Taylor, and Arbery, and also has set up a college fund to cover the tuition for Floyd's six-year-old daughter, Gianna Floyd. West has also reportedly offered to cover the legal fees for the families of Arbery and Taylor, and has promised to help financially support Black-owned businesses in his hometown of Chicago.

West's donations comes after critics on Twitter questioned the rapper for remaining silent regarding the Black Lives Matter movement in the wake of Floyd's killing and the deaths of countless others. Though the Kanye of yesteryear would have notoriously taken to Twitter to share his thoughts on the tragedies, these days, West only spontaneously utilises his social media accounts.

There is no official statement following the news of his donations, just some details revealed through his representative. And though the mogul himself has stayed relatively mum about matters, members of his family have spoken out regarding the heightened state of racial unrest in America, including his wife, Kim Kardashian West and sister-in-law, Kylie Jenner. Kardashian West took to Instagram on Monday to express her distress over seeing another Black life taken due to police brutality.

"For years, with every horrific murder of an innocent black man, woman, or child, I have always tried to find the right words to express my condolences and outrage, but the privilege I am afforded by the color of my skin has often left me feeling like this is not a fight that I can truly take on my own," wrote Kardashian on Instagram. "Not today, not anymore. Like so many of you, I am angry. I am more than angry. I am infuriated and I am disgusted. I am exhausted by the heartbreak I feel seeing mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers and children suffering because their loved one was murdered or locked away unjustly for being black."
