Even if you are a homebody and pride yourself for loving being home, we can all agree that a luxurious weekend away from the same four walls is definitely something we can all use. Fortunately, the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) has announced that hotels may now apply to reopen (subject to stringent safe distancing measures, of course). To date, 62 properties have been given the green light to resume bookings, including the iconic Raffles Hotel Singapore and the boutique Warehouse Hotel.

In celebration of their reopening, Editor-in-Chief Kenneth Goh talked about his favourite staycation spots in Singapore on One FM 91.3 with DJ Angelique Teo earlier today, so you you know where to go for the long weekends ahead (think: National Day). From Capella Resort in Sentosa to Fullerton Hotel, here are his top picks.

  • Check into Capella Resort if you want to escape the city life for luxury resort living. Tucked away within 30 acres of lush rainforest on Sentosa, Capella Singapore has introduced an exclusive staycation in one of the estate’s spacious Manors. The new Manor Experience is designed to enable families to spend quality time together, without the need for air travel, and features a range of activities, such as a 60-minute private yoga class and a 60-minute massage, which all take place within the luxurious confines of the private residence. You’ll even have a dedicated villa host to attend to all your needs.

  • More than just a resort getaway, W Hotel Sentosa Cove is also a fantastic place to check in if you’re a design and art fanatic. We recommend the Escape For Two package, which includes everything you need to impress your significant other including a complimentary room upgrade. Of course you can also relax at the award-winning AWAY SPA with their famous treatments.

One of Singapore’s most iconic hotels, Raffles Hotel Singapore provides a relaxing getaway in the heart of the city. Spend the day luxuriating in one of their spacious suites, cooling down at the rooftop pool and sipping on Singapore Slings. That’s not all. If you pay for one night, you can enjoy a complimentary second night with their newly launched The Suite Life package. There is also a Resident Historian who is happy to take you through the colourful history of the hotel.

With its prime location in the heart of the CBD and its rich history, the Fullerton Hotel Singapore is a masterpiece of understated comfort and elegance. Spend the day relaxing by the 25-metre outdoor infinity pool, which overlooks the Singapore River, or savour the rich, varied cuisines of Singapore and the world. The hotel’s new Perfect Staycation is tailored for families with young children and is ideal if you’re looking for something to do during the school holidays.

  • Visit the Asian Civilisations Museum or the National Gallery which are just a short walk away. But make sure you purchase tickets and make payments online. There are also many restaurants around Boat Quay if you like.
