Kim Kardashian Sent Emily Ratajkowski Flowers For Defending Her Selfie

A bouquet of white roses and a note said it all

Numerous celebrities have reacted to Kim Kardashian's nude selfie, but she's especially appreciative over those who came to her defense—including Emily Ratajkowski.

The model and actress took to Instagram yesterday to show her gratitude for a bouquet of white roses and a note she received from Kardashian.

"It's so important that we let women express their sexuality and share their bodies however they choose," she wrote in her caption.

Ratajkowski is one of many women to stand up for Kardashian's picture, citing it as an example of a woman's freedom to sexual expression. On Twitter, she criticized those who denounced the photo; on Instagram, she posted a naked photo of her own that mimicked Kim's to show her.

This isn't Ratajkowski's first time defending women's bodies, either. Last month, wrote an essay for Lenny on "why women shouldn't feel guilty about being sexy." In it, she says:

"The implication is that to be sexual is to be trashy because being sexy means playing into men's desires. To me, 'sexy' is a kind of beauty, a kind of self-expression, one that is to be celebrated, one that is wonderfully female. Why does the implication have to be that sex is a thing men get to take from women and women give up?"

Kardashian voiced a similar message when she penned her own open letter about the controversial photo. She wrote, "I will not live my life dictated by the issues you have with my sexuality. You be you and let me be me."
