– The Eternals also stars Angelina Jolie, Richard Madden, and Gemma Chan.
Salma Hayek is just as big of a Jon Snow fangirl as you are. The only difference is, she gets to work with him now.
The Oscar-nominated actress gleefully took to Instagram yesterday to share a photo of her with Kit Harington, who famously portrayed the character on Game of Thrones for eight seasons. She’s now costarring with the British actor, plus a number of other stars, for the upcoming Marvel superhero film, The Eternals. Harington has his arm around Hayek in the photo, and they both flash big smiles.
“I still can’t believe that I’m working with #jonsnow!” she wrote in her caption. “Kit you’re the best!!!” She followed up with the same message in Spanish.
Even Emilia Clarke, who starred opposite Harington on GoT, liked the photo.
Hayek was first announced as a member of the Eternals cast in July during San Diego Comic-Con. She joins an A-list roster including Angelina Jolie, Gemma Chan, Kumail Nanjiani, Atlanta‘s Brian Tyree Henry, and another of Harington’s former GoT costars Richard Madden. Harington’s casting was announced in August at Disney’s D23 Expo.
The Eternals, set to release in November 2020, is based on the Marvel comics of the same name by Jack Kirby. According to Variety, the Eternals themselves are beings with superpowers who were created from experiments aliens conducted on humans. They protect the earth from danger, including their evil counterparts, the Deviants.
Hayek is slated to play Ajak, an Eternal who fought in the Trojan War, and Harington will portray Dane Whitman, a.k.a. Black Knight, who is technically an Avenger in the comics, but has romantic ties with the Eternal Sersei (played by Gemma Chan), per Insider. He wields a mystical sword too, which will surely give viewers serious Jon Snow nostalgia.
