Fashion bloggers transition into consultants, creative directors, editors, moguls etc. all the time, but Kristina Bazan is taking her next job move to another level: she's launching a music career.
The blogger just debuted her first music video for "Out," a song she penned herself and released back in May. Bazan's foray into music marks the (surprisingly) first time a style blogger has made the jump into the music industry.
According to WWD, the 22-year-old had her sights set on a singing career way before she launched her blog, Kayture.com, and became a brand ambassador for L'Oreal. The Switzerland-born blogger went to music school as a kid and started her own band, The Phew, at just 14 years old.
In her debut video, Bazan wears an Elie Saab dress, La Perla lingerie and a black choker (those blogger roots are strong) while writhing on a couch and dancing in a room full of plastic-wrapped furniture. The dark-meets-sexy video is an unexpected departure from Bazan's #OOTD blog posts, showcasing an entirely new side of Kayture. "It's not a big pop anthem; it's a moody, vibey, sexy song. It lets people discover a new side of me. I'm not putting out a massive commercial hit," Bazan told WWD of her premiere song.
Bazan's first album is reportedly in the works and expected to debut in 2017. Watch the full music video below:
