Lady Gaga referred to her boyfriend, talent agent Christian Carino, as “my fiancé” last night, confirming long-running rumors that the couple secretly got engaged. While giving an emotional acceptance speech at ELLE‘s Women in Hollywood event last night, the superstar let the cat out of the bag.
“Thank you to all the loved ones in my life,” Gaga said, according to Cosmopolitan. “Bobby [Campbell, her manager], I love you. Everyone at table five. My fiancé, Christian. All the loved ones in my life who take care of me every day.”

Rumors of Gaga and Carino’s engagement first broke in the summer of 2017. Months later in November, a source told Us Weekly that the couple did get engaged over the summer, and that Carino even asked Gaga’s father for permission. However, the couple never publicly confirmed the news.
Gaga and Carino’s romance was first confirmed in February 2017, coinciding with the singer’s mind-blowing Super Bowl performance. Ahead of her set, she and the talent agent were photographed getting cozy on the football field and taking photos together. They’ve since had a number of joint public appearances, from casual city sightings to the Grammy Awards.

Gaga was previously engaged to actor Taylor Kinney in 2015, whom she first met on the set of her “Yoü and I” music video. However, they broke up and called off their engagement in July 2016, citing their long-distance relationship and “complicated schedules.”
It’s unclear when the singer and Carino plan to get hitched, but we can already tell it’ll be a major event. Can you imagine a wedding more epic than Lady Gaga’s?
