Don't Miss This Groundbreaking Exhibtion Of Mark Shaw's Photographs In Singapore

Leica Galerie Singapore, together with Chan Hampe Galleries, will be exhibiting the works of prolific fashion photographer, Mark Shaw, for the first time in Asia.

A pioneer in the use of colour film, Shaw began his career at Harper’s BAZAAR in 1946 and then went on to photograph for LIFE magazine in the 1950s and 1960s where he shot 27 covers and more than 100 stories. His body of work spans images capturing intimate moments in the lives of celebrities to behind the scenes shots of some of the most high-end couture fashion shows.

Employing a more casual and unobtrusive style of fashion photography, Shaw’s work shows a higher degree of interest in the stories told in candid, unstaged moments. According to Mr Sunil Kaur, Managing Director for Leica Camera Asia Pacific, “Beyond providing an understanding of photography and the art behind it through this exclusive showcase, we want to share the rich stories behind each picture and draw a deeper connection to the world and its communities.“

Mark Shaw: An Asian Debut will run from 15 January to 29 February 2016.
