Congratulations are in order for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex! The royal couple are expecting their second child together, a spokesperson confirms to BAZAAR.com.

"We can confirm that Archie is going to be a big brother. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are overjoyed to be expecting their second child," a spokesperson for the Sussexes revealed on Sunday. The couple shared a new photo taken remotely by their longtime friend, the photographer Misan Harriman.

In the photo, Duchess Meghan can be seen placing a hand on her baby bump, while wearing a flowing, floor-length dress. A source has confirmed to BAZAAR.com that Meghan is wearing a custom Carolina Herrera dress, made for the duchess while she was pregnant with her first child, Archie.

As noted by BAZAAR.com's Royal Editor at Large, Omid Scobie, Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry's pregnancy announcement holds a special significance. The Sussexes appear to be mirroring Princess Diana's second pregnancy announcement, which took place on February 14, 1984. At the time, the Prince and Princess of Wales revealed the news that they were expecting their second child, who was none other than Prince Harry. It seems likely that Meghan and Harry's decision to reveal their second pregnancy on Valentine's Day is a beautiful nod to the duke's late mother.

The pair, who relocated to the United States at the beginning of 2020 and have settled in Santa Barbara, California, are already parents to their one-year-old son Archie Mountbatten Windsor who was born back in May 2019. The family of three has been residing at their Montecito home amid the COVID-19 pandemic and following their landmark decision to step away from royal duties at the start of the year.

Though the couple have only granted the public a few glimpses at Archie since his arrival—including when he was born, their royal tour of South Africa, and for his first birthday earlier this year—the toddler is reportedly enjoying his new life on the West Coast. People reported in April that Archie was "happy to be in the California sunshine," while Meghan shared during a guest stint on the Teenager Therapy podcast that he loves playing outside and gazing at birds.

During a virtual interview for Fortune's Most Powerful Women Next Gen Summit, Duchess Meghan shared a sentiment on how every personal and professional risk she takes—alluding to her and Prince Harry's decision to leave royal life behind earlier this year—is for the sake of her son and family.

"Everything I'm doing is for Archie, our son. Perhaps from the outside it could look risky," said Meghan. "But … if you're living an authentic life, I don't even know if you would define it as risk anymore. You just do what's right."
