Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan are keeping their word to continue to meet with social justice and resistance organisations amid the Black Lives Matter movement taking place across the country.

According to OprahMag.com, both the Duke and Duchess of Sussex spoke with the NAACP following the murder of George Floyd at the hands of police officers in Minneapolis earlier this summer. The NAACP's president, Derrick Johnson, revealed details of his chat with the Sussexes, saying that the couple are doing the work it takes to be helpful and influential supporters of the Black Lives Matter movement, as well as advocates for the #StopHateForProfit Facebook campaign.

"After the George Floyd incident, we did have a conversation with them about just the state of things, as they were exploring ways that they could be supportive, in that moment," said Johnson.

"Like many people, they recognise the danger social media platforms have on society. They recognise it from a very personal space. They have been very helpful in terms of talking about how this impacts people, seeking solutions to this systemic problem, and very supportive thought partners in the process," he added.

Johnson also said that though he "can't speak" for Harry and Meghan on whether or not they'll continue to work alongside the NAACP in their independent endeavours, he does believe the couple's interest and dedication to the cause is thoroughly authentic.

"I think their concern and compassion is genuine and we really appreciate their thought partnership on how to address this most immediate issue we have," said Johnson.
