Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth's relationship is more nuanced than just being #CoupleGoals on Instagram. The pair, who've been together for 10 years and wed in December, have a "unique" marriage, the singer revealed in ELLE's August 2019 issue.

"I think it’s very confusing to people that I’m married. But my relationship is unique," she told the magazine. "And I don’t know that I would ever publicly allow people in there because it’s so complex, and modern, and new that I don’t think we’re in a place where people would get it."

Cyrus continued, touching on her sexuality: "I’m in a hetero relationship, but I still am very sexually attracted to women." She followed up with a fitting analogy: "People become vegetarian for health reasons, but bacon is still fucking good, and I know that."

Of marrying Hemsworth, she said, "I made a partner decision. This is the person I feel has my back the most."

The Disney alum has previously opened up about being sexually fluid, coming out as pansexual in 2015 while speaking to ELLE UK. She's also spoken about not identifying with a specific gender, telling Paper magazine in the same year, "I don't relate to being boy or girl, and I don't have to have my partner relate to boy or girl."

Cyrus said she first identified as pansexual after she "figured out what it was" while visiting an LGBTQ center in L.A., she told Variety. "I saw one human in particular who didn’t identify as male or female," she explained. "Looking at them, they were both: beautiful and sexy and tough but vulnerable and feminine but masculine. And I related to that person more than I related to anyone in my life."

Miley doesn't even like using the words "husband and wife" when speaking about marriage, she told ELLE. "'Husband and wife' sounds like a cigarette commercial from the ’50s to me," she said. Instead, she prefers the term "partners," which is how she sees her own parents' relationship.

"I definitely don’t fit into a stereotypical wife role," she said. "I don’t even like that word."
