It’s a very Cambridge Christmas!
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge released a new photo of their family to mark the holiday season. In the image, Prince William, Duchess Kate, and their children—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis—all appear together outside posing happily in varying shades of blue and mossy green. Both Kate and her daughter wore flowy dresses for the family photo op, with Kate opting for an olive-green maxi number and Charlotte sporting an adorable blue gingham smocked dress. As for the boys, Prince George and Prince Louis dressed just like Dad in their own mini polos, canvas sneakers, and khaki shorts.
“Delighted to share a new image of the family, which features on this year’s Christmas card 🎄,” the caption accompanying the Instagram post read.
Though the Cambridges are no strangers to participating in outdoor shoots for their family photos, normally their holiday images are captured at one of their family estates in the United Kingdom. This time around, per an official Kensington Palace press release, the Cambridges’ photo was taken during a family trip to Jordan earlier this year.
Kate’s mother, Carole Middleton, also gave a glimpse into how the Cambridge children will be ringing in the season this year. Middleton shared a photo via the Instagram account of her party planning business, Party Pieces, of a Christmas tree and shared that her three royal grandchildren will decorate their own designated tree this year.
“Once again this year we plan to have two Christmas trees: one for the children to decorate and one which I do myself,” she wrote in the caption. “My beloved tree-top angel is looking a little worse for wear after years of service so it’s time to invest in something new. This Light Up Gold Star will bring an extra twinkle to proceedings.”
