
Nick Jonas is, as they say, husband material. He’s talented, loyal, and decent—not to mention a former Disney teen heartthrob. But according to his wife, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, he’s “the most special” for another particular reason. Other husband figures out there, please take notes.

In a new conversation with Access, the actress and model opened up about her now three-year marriage with Jonas, who she said is one of her “biggest champions.” She added that among his best qualities is how he’s one of her greatest cheerleaders. “My husband’s very special. He’s the most encouraging man,” she said. “What makes my husband, to me, the most special is how much of a champion of mine he is.”

The model takes her holiday traditions very seriously, but said that she hasn’t had time to do errands because of her busy filming schedule, so Nick has stepped up. “I do Secret Santa mostly on set or with your team, and stuff like that. … At home, we buy presents for everyone,” she said. “The husband’s taken on the responsibility right now to kind of buy the gifts.”

The couple wed back in 2018 in multiple lavish ceremonies and have since been going strong—though their bond hasn’t been without effort. Late last month, Priyanka got real about the struggles of doing long distance with her husband throughout the pandemic. “We didn’t have a dramatic separation but because he was in and out, we had to be really careful,” she said on InStyle‘s Ladies First with Laura Brown podcast. “He had to quarantine, I had to quarantine whenever we saw each other at that time.”
As of now, the two don’t have plans to start a family just yet, though Priyanka has previously joked about having a baby. “Nick and I are expecting …,” she teased on the Jonas Brothers Family Roast Netflix special in November, adding, “… to get drunk tonight and sleep in tomorrow!”
