It's official: Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas tied the knot in a Christian ceremony at the Taj Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur, India yesterday.

Just hours after the star-studded ceremony, the couple confirmed the happy news via their respective Instagram accounts with behind-the-scenes snaps from the three-day nuptials.

Chopra and Jonas captioned the romantic post: "One of the most special things that our relationship has given us is a merging of families who love and respect each other’s faiths and cultures. And so planning our wedding with an amalgamation of both was so so amazing."

"An important part for the girl in an Indian wedding is the Mehendi. Once again we made it our own and it was an afternoon that kicked off the celebrations in the way we both dreamed."

The ceremony was officiated by the groom's father, Paul Kevin Jonas, and the couple said their vows with Chopard rings.

But before heading down the aisle, Chopra and Jonas held a Mehendi ceremony where intricate Mehndi (also known as henna) is applied to the bride-to-be's hands and feet.

For the afternoon event, Chopra dressed in a colourful organdy sherwani by leading Mumbai-based label Khosla Jani.

To finish the ensemble, the 36-year-old wore jewellery thought up by design duo, Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla, which was described as "an exceptional Heirloom piece of very fine rubies collected over generations".

Jonas also wore a traditional aqua bakhiya kurta by the label for the female-led event held by the palace pool.

The newlyweds have yet to share images from the wedding ceremony but Ralph Lauren confirmed via Instagram that the pair wore the American label on their big day.

Jonas and Chopra first met over a year and a half ago and famously graced the Met Gala red carpet together. Just three dates later, the couple got engaged.
