Rihanna is officially the wealthiest woman in music, beating Beyoncé, Celine Dion and Madonna. The musician-cum-designer is reportedly worth $600 million (£472 million), according to Forbes.

The star's fortune is said to be thanks to her music and beauty businesses. Rihanna's Fenty Beauty line, which launched in 2017, made $100 million (about £78 million) in its first 40 days. Her earnings make her worth more than some of music's most famous female artists, including Beyoncé (£314 million) and Madonna (448 million).

Rihanna also runs a lingerie line, Savage x Fenty, which has been praised for its body-positive ethos. In May, she launched her own luxury brand, Fenty, with investment from LVMH, marking the first time that the conglomerate has launched a brand from inception since Christian Lacroix in 1987.

"Money is happening along the way, but I'm working out of what I love to do, what I'm passionate about," Rihanna told the New York Times in May. "Work will change when my life changes in the future but an amount of money is not going to stop that."

Since the start of her music career in 2005, Rihanna has sold 250 million records.
