The Royal Family Remembers Prince Philip On What Would Have Been His 100th Birthday
The royal family is remembering and honoring the life of the Duke of Edinburgh on what would have been his centennial birthday.
On Thursday (June 10), the queen, Prince Charles, and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge all took to their respective social media accounts to share birthday messages for the late Prince Philip, who passed away at the age of 99 back in April.
The royal family Instagram account shared new photos of the queen receiving a special shrub rose that was named in honor of her late husband, gifted to her by the Royal Horticultural Society. The roses were planted in the East Terrace Garden of Windsor Castle.

Prince William and Duchess Kate also shared images of Queen Elizabeth II admiring her new rose bushes, writing alongside the images, "Remembering His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh, on what would have been his 100th birthday."
Prince Charles marked the monumental birthday by sharing two throwback images of his father, one a black-and-white photo of a young Charles greeting his father from a trip to Malta.

Princess Eugenie posted a sweet photo featuring both Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, her grandparents. She wrote in the caption, "Thinking of Grandpa on what would have been his 100th birthday."
Eugenie previously honored her grandfather when she welcomed her firstborn son, August Philip Hawke Brooksbank, with husband Jack Brooksbank back in February. Her son, named after the Duke of Edinburgh, was born shortly before Philip spent weeks in the hospital. After a successful heart surgery, he was finally discharged in March. He passed away on April 9 at Windsor Castle.
