Back again for its 17th year, get ready to experience the familiar sights and unravel new, lesser-known stories at the highly anticipated Singapore Heritage Festival (SHF 2020). Going completely digital for the very first time, we can guarantee that you will still be blown away in the comfort of your homes as this year’s edition is showcasing over 80 free highly interactive and exciting programmes.

Over the consecutive weekends, you can discover different local neighbourhoods across the little red dot; from Tanjong Pagar where shophouses were brimming with diverse communities to the opulent beach resort culture in Pasir Ris, and even the firsthand accounts from police officers who’ve guarded the well-loved Kallang Basin before it became the sporting hub it is today.

On top of this, geek out further and get your full culture fix on an array of topics that include lesser-talked about festivals of our ethnic communities, such as the Durga Puja and Nine Emperor Gods Festival, and the extraordinary stories behind seemingly ordinary objects found in historic places of worship, to name a few.

If you’re more of a foodie like how a lot of us are here in Singapore, there’ll also be a chance for you to check out amazing live demonstrations by beloved heritage pastry-makers, such as Tong Heng Delicacies and Chuan Ji Bakery Hainanese Delicacies, or learn how to create a new local dish through guided activities led by both heritage practitioners and culinary experts.

So, what are you waiting for? Mark these dates in your calendar and get ready to embark on your journey of discovery and delight.

The Singapore Heritage Festival 2020: Digital Edition (SHF 2020) will be held online from 19 June 2020 to 5 July 2020.
