While it’s rare for a model to possess a pop star-worthy vocal range, fashion favorite Natasha Poly seems to defy the odds. Once just passed off as a hidden talent, the Russian-born super has finally shared her enviable singing skills—as heard loud and clear in a new music video for Frame Denim’s Fall 2015 campaign.

“All of my cousins went to music school. One would go every day to music school and her voice was so beautiful. I would all the time try to copy her. I would come back to my mom and say, ‘Why don’t you send me to music school? I think I’m really good,'” Poly remembers. “It kind of just stayed with me. It was just something I really liked.”

Today, at 30 years old, her music dreams have become a reality thanks to her latest gig as the face of Frame. ”I was at another job with her and we were having a dinner with her after the shoot. I literally asked her, ‘What would you have done if you weren’t going to be a model?’ She was like, ‘Well, I was going to be a singer,'” says label founder Erik Torstensson. “I had no idea.”

After Torstensson heard an iPhone recording of Poly singing, it was soon decided that she must lend her voice to the brand’s new ad; an opportunity that inspired her to work harder than ever. “In the beginning, I rehearsed myself at home and was studying all the lyrics,” the 5-foot-10 stunner explains. “I came into the studio and started singing so loudly, and they were like, ‘You are doing great but it isn’t the style of the music!’ That was a funny moment.”

Eventually, she caught on and now Poly is eyeing a possible (and maybe even permanent?) move from the runway to the recording studio. ”Yeah, I could! I mean I really enjoyed it and I think it could be really great,” she reveals. “I could see myself doing it again.”
