With Chinese New Year just around the corner, it’s clear that many of us are getting excited to spend the quality time to catch up with our loved ones.
Although this year’s celebrations will only accommodate up to a party of eight, we decide to play make-believe and imagine the dream guests we’d love to invite to our reunion gatherings.

Since I can’t travel for the Australian Open I’m getting some tennis love over to me for serious coaching! Naomi, Serena, Novak, Nadal and Roger will be my reunion guests AFTER they allow me to win ONE point!
Charmaine Ho, Executive Editor
I’d be writing invite cards out to some of my “favouritest of all time” people such as Jim Henson, David Attenborough, Dame Judi, Cate Blanchett, Ella Fitzgerald, Nelson Mandela, Stephen Fry and Gerald Durrell. Nothing but good vibes, easy yet illuminating conversation and a couple of jazz classics thrown in (if Ella’s so inclined).
Daphne Tso, Senior Art Director
I am a big fan of British Monarchy, my eight guests will be The Queen, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, Prince George of Cambridge, Prince George of Cambridge, Prince Louis of Cambridge and nanny Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo.
Windy Aulia, Creative Director
It’ll be nice to make this reunion special, I mean, like a Netflix Standup Special. For an unadulterated hilarious evening then my guests will have to include Dave Chapelle, Kevin Hart, Tiffany Haddish, Amy Schumer, Ali Wong, Niki Glaser, Ricky Gervais and Russel Peters.
Jeffrey Yan, Associate Fashion Director
Miuccia, Raf, Marc, Galliano, Rick, Donatella, and because I live for the potential of drama… Chanel and Schiaparelli.
Gracia Phang, Associate Style Editor
Pier Paolo Piccioli, Dries van Noten, Christian Lacriox, Eva Chen + Ren + Tao (it’d be nice for my daughter to have some playmates over too), Phoebe Buffay and Joey Tribbiani. It’s a weird mix, but hey! It’s gotta be interesting right? Plus, I want to be around all these people!
Arissa Ha, Senior Beauty Editor
I’ll invite the entire cast of Bling Empire (Kevin, Kane, Anna, Christine, Kelly, Kim, Jaime and Cherie) cause I’ll be able to watch some CNY drama IRL, without having to wait for season 2. Unfortunately Andrew not invited, he’s the 9th person (Who am I kidding? He’s not invited, ever.)

The imaginary guests I will be inviting will include Rupaul, Michelle Visage, Carson Kressley, Ross Mathews, Violet Chachki, Aquaria, Raja, Sasha Velour; so I can enjoy some Drag Race vibes live!

Phoebe Philo, Michelle Obama, Cate Blanchett, Frida Kahlo, Kristen Wiig, Jennifer Aniston, Alicia Keys and Wonder Woman for an all-female dinner party filled with laughter, positivity and inspiring stories.

My fantasy CNY dinner party would include: Padma Lakshmi, Mindy Kaling, Martin Margiela, Michelle Obama, Keanu Reeves, Tom Hardy, and Henry Cavill. Also, because no gathering is complete without some juicy gossip, Wendy Williams will always be on my guest list.

If it were up to me, I’d love to have a CNY girls night-in together with these queens and cocktails in-hand… Anne Hathaway, Miley Cyrus, Hilary Duff, Lana Del Rey, Behati Prinsloo, Vera Blue… and, I won’t forget Margot Robbie, because I believe two Marg-aux(s)/ot(s) calls for a riot of a celebration. 😉
