King Charles III's coronation has finally arrived. This weekend, the United Kingdom's new sovereign was crowned next to his wife, Queen Camilla, in a momentous ceremony at Westminster Abbey. Royal watchers followed along with the opulent proceedings, filling Twitter with memes featuring the royal family and notable guests from the whole affair.

The Wales family were favourites among the guests, as Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales, were seated front row, alongside their two youngest children, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. While Prince George was occupied serving as a king's page for the ceremony, Charlotte kept her younger brother occupied, as Louis's funny expressions and occasional yawns stole the show. Eyes were also on Prince Harry, who attended the big event solo.

Viewers also had fun noting the little details of the ceremony's rituals and regalia, as well as the roles played by different participants. One standout was Penny Mordaunt, Lord President of the Council, who led the procession into the abbey while carrying a towering, gilded ornamental sword.

One surprising source of meme material was Katy Perry, who attended the ceremony ahead of her performance at tomorrow's coronation concert. The pop star, who was dressed in a lovely lavender skirt suit and dramatic hat, was filmed craning her neck to find her seat ahead of the crowning, inadvertently creating a reaction meme. She was also seen taking a selfie before heading out of the abbey.

Read on to see all of the best reactions from the historic event.
