THE MODERN FAMILY
Charmaine Seah-Ong (@eleventhour), Derek Ong (@dercong) and Charlie Rose Ong
If this shot reminds you of the family emoji, you’ve hit the jackpot—because this is one loving, social media-embracing family unit.
From the sun-drenched vacation shots to the Pinterest-perfect picnic pictures, it is obvious that Derek Ong and Charmaine Seah-Ong are crazy about their child.
As co-founders of creative agency, Elementary Co., their Instagram game is also on point: The Instadad’s feed documents the playful and fun-filled evolution of the 20-month-old, Derek Ong and Charmaine Seah-Ongwhile the Instamum shares beautifully filtered images of the toddler with her 10k-plus followers using the hashtag #CharlieRoseOng.

If we were in a Wes Anderson movie and the male protagonist was a cross between Elvis and Psy who was married to an alcoholic, bible thumping real estate mogul. And they only wore @gucci. Riveting stuff I'm sure, except this was taken BTS during our shoot with @harpersbazaarsg. Check us out in this month's issue – it's got @garypeppergirl on the cover and #CharlieRoseOng wearing a fabulous pout in our little feature.
“It’s a way for us to capture daily moments of Charlie with the people and experiences that I love,” adds Seah-Ong. “Sometimes she does get recognised on the streets, but it’s always been a positive interaction.”
On a physical and emotional trait their baby girl has inherited from each of them, they say: “She has her mother’s eyes and is as observant as her father; and she has the tenacity from both of us to always recover quickly from any negative situation, getting over things when they don’t go her way.”
Independent and curious, there’s no doubt Charlie is growing up to be one tough cookie.
