Today, the Duke of Cambridge officially opened the Ralph Lauren Centre for Breast Cancer Research in Chelsea, London. The royal was shown around the new facility, which has been funded by supporters of the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, as well as a generous donation from Ralph Lauren.

"After more than 20 years of a commitment to the Royal Marsden, I am so proud to officially support their world-renowned research through the establishment of the Ralph Lauren Centre for Breast Cancer Research," Lauren said in a statement. "Together we will make cancer research a reality by bringing it directly to patients around the world and the hope that we will find a cure in our lifetime."

In celebration of this momentous occasion, the Ralph Lauren Corporation will also donate £25 to the facility for each in-store purchase during the dates of 20 to 22 May.
