You Will Not Believe The Massive Budget For 'Game Of Thrones' Season 6
It's an eye-watering amount
It's no secret that Game of Thrones costs a lot of money to make, but how much exactly?
Well, we now have the answer thanks to Entertainment Weekly, which reports that the budget for the upcoming sixth season was "north of $10 million per episode".
That's more than $100 million (£69 million) for the entire season.
There were rumblings that the second season cost $6 million per episode to produce (via E! Online). If that's the case, it looks like HBO has no problem splashing more and more cash on the fantasy epic as its popularity continues to grow.
In the same issue of the magazine, star Emilia Clarke hit out at critics who accuse the show of sexism.
"What's beautiful about Game of Thrones [is] its depiction of women in so many different stages of development," she said.
Game of Thrones season six will premiere on Sunday, April 24.
