The Trailer For "13 Reasons Why" Season Two Has Just Been Released

It premieres this month

13 reasons why season 2

Following the huge success of the first series of 13 Reasons Why last year (despite the controversial backlash), it came as little surprise to hear that it had been renewed for a second season - and now we've got our first glimpse at what to expect.

Co-produced by Selena Gomez, the first series followed a group of high-school teenagers who were dealing with their classmate's suicide and why she chose to end her life - detailed in a series of tapes that she left behind.

The two-minute season two preview opens with Clay finding a Polaroid in his locker with a message that reads "Hannah wasn't the only one".

The Netflix trailer includes various characters looking distressed, with more Polaroid messages like "He won't stop" and a scene which sees Clay coming face-to-face with Hannah.

Kate Walsh, who played Hannah's mother in series one, said that this season "deals with sexual assault, it deals with truth, it deals with responsibility, it deals with the aftermath of Hannah’s death…. It’s very intense and very, I think, still totally addictive,” according to Marie Claire Australia.

Season 2 of 13 Reasons Why premieres Friday 18 May on Netflix. Watch the full trailer above.
