Venice

Although most places in the city of LA are picturesque, Venice is beautiful. If you’re there during ‘winter’, the soft breeze and warmth from the sun on a LA winter morning might even be the perfect weather for long on-foot ventures – no humidity, no freezing cold and yes, no sweat.

The Venice Canals are definitely a sight you can’t forget. The way light falls on the landscape and the reflections made in the water make it look like an oil painting.

The Venice Beach Boardwalk features colourful houses, a small skate park, and even a muscle beach – all within comfortable walking distance. If you’ve spent most of your trip scavenging through the concrete jungle, Venice is the perfect place to unwind.

Beverly Hills

With its expensive cars and designer houses, Beverly Hills offers up some magnificent architecture and photo-worthy spots!
Apart from the Beverly Hills Hotel, which radiates Clueless and Mean Girls rich-girl vibes, there is also a lavish mansion which is open to public.

The Greystone Mansion is known for its Tudor architecture and offers up a beautiful English style garden. Stepping into this now public park seemingly turns the clock back in time, but looking out from the many viewpoints pulls you back to the present with a bird’s eye view of the Los Angeles landscape.

The site is also often featured in many films and music videos, including: Mariah Carey’s “We Belong Together”, the anti-superhero Arrow series, X-Men and more.

Inspired by European architecture, the shopping district at Rodeo Drive is also a perfect spot for pictures and boasts many luxury labels with elaborated store fronts.

Los Angeles County Museum of Art

The lamp installation at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) is a popular place for photo-shoots among locals and tourists. Have fun trying to experiment with shadows and depths using the lamps for the best shot. Head down at night for photos that appear almost magical, when the lamps light up!

Mural Walls All Around LA

Many of the streets in LA are home to artistic murals that make great backdrops for a pop of colour in your Instagram feed. The Arts District and Venice Beach are the best places to find these walls.
